How important are probiotics for children?

Children are our future and they need to start healthy and stay healthy in their younger years to have any chance of a long and healthy life.

When we realise that probiotics are the basis of all living things and we kill them off every day just with normal living—not even counting chlorine, fluoride, antibiotics and chemicals in our foods—is it any wonder our children suffer with conditions that simply were not around 40 years ago?

We have changed, and our children are suffering from lack of exercise, exposure to electric magnetic fields and sometimes even the supplements they are put on. In Australia we have a poor record when it comes to children’s health.

It is up to us, the adults and parents, to make better choices so our kids have a chance for a healthier future. Simple suggestions are to reduce the exposure to mobile phones, laptops for toddlers, focus on less sugar and that includes breakfast cereals which are loaded with sugar. And move towards what we ate and drank 50 years ago.

Sounds too difficult? Well, if we don’t change something our children will suffer.

What is worse? Our children complaining because they don’t get comfort food and the encouragement sometimes required to get kids to exercise and be outdoors, or watching the demise of our children suffering a condition they should never get.

On a closing note, this generation is the first generation that will be burying their children, with shorter life expectancies. The only ones who can change this direction is us and to make a start we should purchase organic food, drink good quality water and make sure our children get nutrition and probiotics every day.
